    Introduction- What Is Search Engine Optimization



    Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is often considered the more technical and important part of Internet marketing. This is truth because SEO help us in the promotion of websites and at the same time it requires some technical knowledge – at least knowledge about basic HTML. SEO is also known as SEO copyrighting because most of the techniques that are used to promote sites in search engines deal with text. Generally, SEO can be defined as the activity of optimizing Web pages or whole websites in order to make them more search engine and user-friendly, thus getting higher positions in search engine ranking.
     
    One of the basic truth in SEO is that even if you follow all the things that are necessary to do, this does not automatically guarantee you top search  ratings but if you neglect basic rules, this certainly will not go unnoticed. Also, if you set realistic goals – i.e to get into the top 20 results in Google for a particular keyword, rather than be the number one for 10 keywords in 5 search engines, you will feel happier and more satisfied with your results. 

    Although SEO help us to increase the visitors and traffic to our website, SEO is not advertising. Of course, you can be included in paid search results for given keywords but basically the idea behind the SEO techniques is to get top placement because your site is relevant to a particular search term, not because you pay. 

    SEO can be a 50-minute job or a permanent activity if you have knowledge and expertise. Sometimes it is enough to do some generic SEO in order to get high rank in search engines – for example, if you are a leader for rare keywords, then you do not have a lot to do in order to get decent placement. But in most cases, if you really want to be at the top, you need to pay special attention to SEO and devote significant amounts of time and effort to it. Even if you plan to do some basic SEO, it is essential that you understand how search engines work and which items are most important in SEO.

    Important SEO Tips For Newbie


    Keyword is one of the main thing in Search Engine Optimization. The target keyword of the page must be in the page including heading, anchor text and Meta tags. It is very difficult to get top rank in search engines for a particular keywords even if your website has good PR and back links. It is only due to lack of SEO techniques.

    Remember these points when targeting the keywords:

    1. In starting, Don’t target your page only with single keyword. Use keywords combination. If your website is related to SEO in India, target it by "India SEO" or by SEO services.

    2. Must Use keyword suggestion tools to find the idea of keywords for a particular page. The popular keyword suggestion tools are Google, keyword discovery, etc.

    3. Make sure that you must use your keyword in heading tag, 1-2 times in title and description, means not more than 7-8 times. Do not repeat it excessive to get higher in search engine ranking. It is against the search engine guidelines and your website can be penalized.

    4. A Title tag should not be more than 5-15 words, description should be within 200-225 words and keywords should not more than 150 words.

    5. If you are going to use images then insert alt text relevant to the image name. Use short text and if possible use keyword in the alt text.

    6. Use your page keyword in anchor text and it must be relevant and related text according to the page. Do not use text irrelevant to the page.
